T-shirt Photo Selection

In Ziemowit Maj by Ula

Our week with Ziemowit Maj is coming to its end. Together with the photographer we’ve selected one image for a t-shirt that I am sending to the printers. Once I have the tee ready photos of me wearing it in London’s galleries, museums and streets will follow.

Do you find this image enchanting like I do? Even though it is so sterile and cold with whites and greys dominating the image there is so much going on there. I like the contrast between the matt wall and the shininess of the metal elements and how they reflect the surrounding, and little details, like water marks on the sink and how the light bounces from the mirror and the soap dispenser on to the wall. The question that arises is what is that space? Hospital or public toilet? Why is it so inhumanly cold. And why do we find it so fascinating?

Choosing one image was not easy. We went through a process of selecting first three photos and then finally we decided for the one. I am hoping that in the future this process will be guided by a public vote. My plan is to engage you in choosing the final image from the few selected by me and the photographer. This will probably happen once SnappedAway has more presence in the web and bigger audience. However I am still interested to hear your opinions on the selected image. I am hoping to get the printed tee from the printers some time next week. In meantime I invite you for the next week of SnappedAway In-Depth Series, this time with photographer Marco Barbieri.
