Somewhere Else by Kevin Michael Klipfel

On a Day 3 of our In-Depth Series with Kevin Michael Klipfel I am proud to present his project: Somewhere Else. This is how Kevin describes the project himself:

”The title of this series comes from a quote by the California writer Joan Didion, who wrote that ”California is somewhere else”. These photos were all taken after I moved to California, while I was a long way from the East Coast of the United States, where I’ve lived all my life, and dealing with the loneliness of that. The photos are from several different California locations: Palm Springs, Beverly Hills, Chico, and were also taken on trips to and from California, in Las Vegas, Nevada and Buffalo, New York. So, in a sense they all come from, on a personal level, a sense of being “somewhere else” and coming to terms with the consequences of that”.
