Blue Take Over by Ziemowit Maj

Day 4 of our In-Depth Series with Ziemowit Maj. Today we feature his latest project: Blue Take Over.

Last couple of years have been a period of slowing down and paying closer attention to subtler details in the flow of events. The work that has emerged has got a kind of subdued tension different from my previous efforts, it’s a lot quieter although an occasional explosion can still be found.

It was a slow progression, so one will still recognise my personal approach. My imprint on the images seems to be gentler, the air is crisper and a lot more transparent, bodies objects and places seem to be more in a partnership with me than previously, when I was trying to catch them by using too much force.

This last period could be dubbed ‘getting out of the way’ or ‘seducing the subject matter’. I felt it was something that had to be done, and now I’ve started a new direction, but it’s too early to say much about that.
